Breathing Deeper

A Thumper Dual Sport needed to breath easier.

With a K&N high flow filter in place, the air box top was opened with a 1" wood bit. This should let the carb. be the limiting factor in air flow.

The stock exhaust can has a carbon clean-out port. The plate and mounting hardware were removed to provide a less restrictive and rumbling exhaust. Inconel wire cloth was riveted in place to screen the exhaust opening. This allows off road use with out starting forest fires.

The header had a large weld bead inside of the tube. I filed it to 0.020" in height and beveled it for better flow. This little exercise gained 6% in area for the exhaust gasses.
