After a few short but eventful rides leaving oil, gas, and bike parts all over the road, it was time to garage the bike and fix everything broken, plus repaint the sheetmetal.

This appears to be an aftermarket add-on. It's welded on at the front and bolted at the rear.

Melted Fuel Line
Whoever worked on this bike thought a clear pvc tube with some plastic wire conduit around it would be a good fuel line to run right between two hot cast iron jugs. Hilarity ensues.

Pipe that fell off
This pipe was held on with a stripped, stretched, rusty old bolt and it fell off while i was riding

Where the Pipe Goes
Rear exhaust where the pipe was connected, and below that the new gear reduction starter. On the right, the S&S Shorty carb and the jerry-rigged plastic fuel line that ended up melting through on the road
